Crown and bridge
If you have teeth that are heavily filled and in constant need of repair, then a crown may be the best option to restore your tooth to its normal shape and size.
A crown improves function by enclosing the tooth, making it far stronger. Crowns can cover and support a tooth with a large filling, protect a weak tooth from breaking, cover a dental implant, or protect a tooth after root canal therapy.
If you are missing one or more teeth, then a bridge can be developed as a replacement, literally by bridging the gap. The teeth either side of the space are crowned and then an artificial tooth is added, creating a natural looking smile.
How are crowns and bridges made?
The procedure usually involves two separate appointments, including preparation and the bonding. Both crowns and bridges are carefully hand made with porcelain and metal alloy by our dental technician. Porcelain is strong and can be made to match the colour of your natural teeth, while metal alloy is used for its strength and durability.
